Bottom floor is all garage and shop. Also, separate driveway with carport. It’s the NKato Special™!

Oh I do like that. Needs more retro 50s touches. Does it by chance have a tacky turquoise bathroom? Or pink?

Is...is there a fire place in that garage?
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:23 |

Kind of looks it at least once was functional in the past , don’t it?
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:24 |

No such luck, but it does have mustard cabinets and pink walls!

10/10 would buy.
EDIT: I love the photos where it’s like, “look, you can almost see the water!”

For when you have something Italian. Back it into he hearth and if it goes up in flames, the smoke will go out the chimney

Saved for when I have money (I’ll bet never) and can build a house.

Fireplace = exhaust vent for dyno (not shown).

Swoon

My house was advertised as having view of the Cascades. There was exactly one spot you could stand looking between two trees and see maybe a tip of snow on a perfectly clear day. I protested the claim.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:38 |

Are you sure that isn’t one mine? It’s got just enough paint on the old cabinets and vanities to make me think “quick flip”!

That’s totally not at all
what I did when I sold my house :|

I dig it.

I actually live 5 miles from Mukilteo.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:49 |

I grew up in Mukilteo. Goat Trail area is a great neighborhood.

*after reading the page* Half
a million bucks? And built in ‘88? Yeah nah, I’ll wait for the floor to drop out of the market.
I’m not interested in being trapped in what would amount to a $3,000 monthly expense, and with interest that would destroy me.
Just no.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:53 |

All that for only $529,000. It even has a car wash bay (yes, I am aware that’s not the original purpose of that carport on the side but to me it would be a shaded wash bay for detailing)!!!
That kitchen seems too narrow though.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:53 |

Probably just the structure to support the fireplace upstairs. Although, if maybe half the garage was a utility room in the past, that could have been where a furnace was hooked up.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:55 |

I wasn’t suggesting you buy it, just that this basically fits the build you’ve been describing.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:55 |

Can’t deny that, Mukilteo in general is a good town.

1,400 sq ft can only get you so far.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 21:58 |
|
I’d be fine in 1400 sq ft. The average houses around here are 1000-1200 sq ft for twice that price.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:00 |
|
I’d buy the house up above in a heartbeat (if I could afford a 529k home, that is). My last house was 886sqft. This would be like a mansion. PLUS BOTTOM FLOOR IS ALL FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Miata, motorcycles and scooters in the garage. Loaded work truck in the (gated) carport. NSX and manual 540i wagon in the driveway....
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:05 |

The living area is so spacious. I wish there were houses like that around here. I’d love a house that had an open living space like that. Even the vaulted ceilings look great.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:05 |

I like where this is going.
For me:
-
1UZ 4x4 Chinook in carport
- Sportly, longbed in garage bays
- another crappy Tercel perpendicular in back of garage
- work truck blocking bay 1 in driveway
- Vibe blocking bay 2

I know. I should clone this house in a less financially-fucked market.

Hey be nice -- that was not inexpensive paint!
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:11 |

That seems amazingly reasonable given the location.

This is pretty much what I'm looking for.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:13 |

I agree.
My broker says that 1-
bath-only
can be a real value killer.

Let's throw a depreciation-riddled LC500 in there!
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:18 |

Only 2 BD too which is probably not helpful. But it does seem like the market is cooling off quite a bit.

Holy shit notifications are fucked!

Man, I even looked up how much it would be to lease one. And I thought
the GS-F was ball-busting.

We got outbid on a home very similar to this, but it was a tri-level. 3oo more square feet, 2 baths, 2 beds, but the rooms were MASSIVE. Could easily be turned into 4 bedrooms.
This house seems stuck without an addition.
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:36 |

That is a surprisingly Australian 1970s kind of house. I was bought up in one not to dissimilar. And some country towns are full of them...
![]() 12/13/2018 at 22:43 |

Yeah I’d agree. I
t looks like the lot is big enough that you’d have some options, but building stuff is expensive in the PNW
.

Young Oppo with some
cash moneys
![]() 12/14/2018 at 04:29 |

My ex once had a house that could have been considered an Oppo special, and even though it was in a crap neighborhood there were times I wish we could have kept it. It started out as a cheap 3 bd/1 ba postwar place with a detached 2-car garage on a corner lot. Previous owners filled in the area between the garage and house making a large family room, and knocked out some walls to remove 1 bedroom and expand the kitchen and living room. Then they added another 2-car garage. 2 bedrooms with a 4-car garage, and it still had a decent yard. Perfect.

The biggest problem I’d have with this garage, is the same one I have with my current garage. Ceiling height or the lack thereof. A proper lift is surely on most of our bucket lists and garage height is the limiting factor.

buy it!

How the fuck does anyone afford a house where you are? Or a down payment? $300/sq ft is crazy.
![]() 12/14/2018 at 07:28 |
|
Eh, our house is 1400 sq ft for a family of 5 and it’s plenty of room for us.
My garage on the other hand is seriously lacking.

Here’s one for $333/sqft near me:
And once you get into Seattle... Hohhhh boy. Here’s one in North Seattle, nowhere near the water for $382/sqft.
![]() 12/14/2018 at 11:31 |

Nope. Functional utility issues. I’m not climbing stairs each and every time I come home. Especially with a load of groceries. Which is often with a constantly hungry 15 year old son. There was a house for sale near me, located on the river, with similar lower level garage. The listing Realtor said it really hurt its market appeal.

Biggest regret of my life was not being independently wealthy and buying up real estate in Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and San Fran in 2009.

Also, like, houses in Hawaii don’t cost that much. Just move to Hawaii. Where there’s sun and warm.

Yeah, I also think I should bought something -- anything -- when I got out of college, even though I had no money.
